Middleton Place contains gardens, a house museum and plantation stable yards for visitors to explore. This National Historic Landmark is considered America's oldest landscaped gardens. The house, built in 1755, was the birthplace of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. It has remained under the same family ownership for the entirety of its existence.
